Skylo named CES Innovation Awards® 2026 Honoree

Skylo has been named as a CES Innovation Awards® 2026 honoree for smartwatch direct-to-device satellite connectivity in the category Products in Support of Human Security for All. Skylo is the first to bring to market 2-way satellite emergency messaging for wearables. This isn't just a new feature — it redefines what's possible with satellite connectivity in everyday devices. Skylo's proven satellite network, which has powered Satellite SOS on select top-tier smartphones since August 2024 and Satellite SMS since March 2025, has already enabled a growing number of life-saving rescues — from hikers lost in the wilderness to vehicle accidents on highways in remote areas. By embedding Skylo’s service into wearables, we’re making standalone emergency messaging available in the moments that matter most – without a phone or cellular plan. In August 2025, the first smartwatch with integrated, standards-based satellite communications powered by Skylo was introduced via the Google Pixel Watch 4. Additional wearables powered by Skylo’s direct-to-device satellite connectivity have been announced in 2H 2025 including the Garmin fēnix® 8 Pro multisport smartwatches.

The CES Innovation Awards® 2026 program received a record number of submissions – over 3,600. The announcement comes ahead of CES® 2026, the most powerful tech event in the world, happening Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The world-renowned CES Innovation Awards program, owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in 36 tech product categories. Those with the highest score in each category receive the “Best of Innovation” distinction. An elite panel of industry expert judges, including members of the media, designers, engineers, and more, reviewed submissions.
