Tele2 IoT expedition: testing satellite connectivity at the Arctic Circle
Qualcomm, a leading semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company, has recently announced the launch of two modem chips, namely 212S and 9205S. These chips are launched so as to cater to the growing demands of the enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) sector as well as the satellite industry, which is expected to boom over the next decade.
They comply with the 3GPP Release 17 standard, making them ideal for ground synchronous orbit (GEO/GSO) satellite communication. Additionally, they also support global positioning capabilities (GPS).
