Former FCC International Bureau Chief Joins Skylo as Head of Regulatory Affairs
Mindel De La Torre joins Skylo to drive growth and accelerate global footprint
Palo Alto, Calif.-based Skylo and Deutsche Telekom
have been partners since July 2022, but only publicly
announced their partnership this week as the
companies plan to launch Deutsche Telekom’s Internet of Things (IoT) service this summer, a spokesperson for Skylo told Connectivity Business News.
Under the agreement, Deutsche Telekom (OTCMKTS: DTEGY) will integrate Skylo’s 3GPP standard direct-to-device satellite service to IoT devices. It will be made possible through T-IoT, a new global connectivity solution from Deutsche Telekom and wireless service provider T-Mobile (NASDQ: TMUS). The new service will be available across 188 destinations on 383 networks worldwide, according to the T-Mobile website.
